Sarah Cooley returns to Last Chance, NM, for the comfort and stability of home after a broken engagement. She is annoyed to find that there is a new owner of the town diner, where she spent much of her childhood. For Sarah and Chris, who is the proprietor of the Dip 'n' Dine, it is not a pleasant first meeting. However, the two become friends, and soon feelings of something more develop. When Sarah's ex-fiance, Brandon, arrives in town hoping for reconciliation, things take a different turn. Sarah begins to wonder if Last Chance is not the only thing that has changed--perhaps she has as well. VERDICT Set in a small Western town, Armstrong's second series entry (after "Welcome To Last Chance") is a gentle love story with a cozy feel. It boasts well-crafted characters who feel like old friends, and its theme of hope leaves readers with the knowledge that for everyone, there really can be one more last chance. This tale is recommended for all fans of sweet and light romances.
